About NECA
The first Board Meeting was held on 08 July 2022. The NECA Board is composed of thirteen (13) members including myself, and eight (8) meetings were held during the Financial Year 2022-2023 wherein a number of decisions has been taken on the setting up of NECA as well as its administration and operation.
The National Environment Cleaning Authority (NECA) became operational in July 2022 after the promulgation of the National Environment Cleaning Authority Act 2022 Act No. 7 of 2022.
Since NECA came into operation, the activities of the Authority have been carried out by a fully dedicated and committed skeleton staff. All their hard work and efforts were geared towards achieving the objectives of NECA.
Statement
I would like to seize this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Honourable Prime Minister for giving me the opportunity to serve the National Environment Cleaning Authority (NECA) as Chairperson.
My appreciation goes to the Chairperson, Board members, staff of NECA and those of the Prime Minister’s Office for their unflinching contribution and commitment to set the foundation for NECA, which is expected to gather momentum in the years to come.
